Keep in mind that foundation will also make a difference. When we bought
our
first SLA (way back when), we did a quick research to find the floor
thickness
in the proposed lab. We revisited that question when we bought our
SLA-500
in 1990. We determined that although we were less that 50 yards from a
truck
route, we had a foundation that was thick enough that it wouldn't
present a
problem.

My facility is no more than 2 miles from a huge lime stone quarry and we have no problems. Our whole building shakes occasionally when they are blasting. With our situation this only happens on the average of one time a week. Hi, all - We are planning on moving our facility this next year, probably just a few miles away from where we are now. However, one of the questions that was just asked is, "do you have any concerns about railroad tracks, thus vibrations, near the building?" I'm pretty sure that having trains run right by an SLA machine would be a bad idea, but can anybody tell me what a safe distance from tracks might be? Any real-life experience with trains and vibrations?
