RE packages are a bit like CAD systems:
There are "supertankers" and "yachts".
The supertankers are those older systems that are having each and every
being tool built in over the year, but for the novice things are quite hard
to handle over the years. But once you are used to it, you would not like to
miss it.
In CAD these are Unigraphics, Catia,etc. In RE there is only Surfacer in
this category (in '93, when I used the version 2 at first, there ware simply
no competition).
The CAD-yachts are those smart little things that are intuitive to use, and
quite new. But they have a lot of limits.
Example: Solidworks.
If you like yachts rather than tankers, you must know that you end up with a
number of tools from different vendors in the end, to get the same things
done as with one "tanker".
