Someone last year mentioned a need to convert a photo of a retiring engineer
to an STL file so that a gift of RP head can be created.

I ran across some technology which utilizes a digital camera, a point light
source, and some software to create a solid file based on an algorithm using
the shadows. A part the size and complexity of a 35mm camera was scanned
and "solidified" in 2 minutes. Is this neat?

a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal,
fight efficiently and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."
