Yes, printing of water to form ice structures has been done by the group
headed by Ming Leu at the Missouri University of Science and Technology
(formerly University of Missouri Rolla). They call it Rapid Freeze
Prototyping. A link to one of their old websites is:

http://web.mst.edu/~vrpl/proj-rp.htm<http://web.mst.edu/%7Evrpl/proj-rp.htm>

I think the RPML will reject this, as it is sent from a different server
than Iím registered from. If you want to forward it to the RPML for me, you
are welcome to.

Brent

I can imagine machines that would build layers of ice by spraying and/or
flooding an area with water. Has anything like that been tried?

The latter sounds chilly :-)

Best wishes
