What is Rapid Manufacturing? RM is the process of making functional
end products directly from CAD using additive layer manufacturing
technologies (LMT). It is of particular interest for smaller
production volumes as it avoids the investments of tooling. This field
is also known by several other names such as direct manufacturing,
direct fabrication or digital manufacturing

About RM Platform: The objective of the RM Platform is to contribute
to a coherent strategy, understanding, development, dissemination and
exploitation of Rapid Manufacturing as enabling technology to
strengthen the European economy. This is achieved by an information
web portal and a stakeholders group active in R&D.
