Dear Mr. Ferrotto,DeskArtes has a software called 3Data Expert which
offsets any STL model - even an open surface to create it a thickness.
The software can be downloaded at www.deskartes.com, and you can request
for a 30 day trial.
For Unix workstations DeskArtes supplies a similar software called Rapid
Tools, and trials can be requested at DA@deskartes.com.
