We all know that Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Product Development
technologies have a beneficial impact on product development lead
times. We even have long lists of case studies that demonstrate the
benefits for singular components. But has anyone got solid,
research-based proof that it can accelerate the time to market of
something as complex as an automobile?
Can anyone provide sound research-based proof for the following
1) The prototyping process actually accelerates the time to market
(plus provides any other benefits) of automotive assemblies or whole
2) Rapid Prototyping can directly reduce the time to market (plus
provides any other benefits) for automobile assemblies or complete
