From the RP-ML archive I can see discussion of rapid
tooling for die-casting using RapidSteel or DirectSteel.
There are also some discussions on casting of magnesium
prototypes in rapid moulds, which are build out of SLA prototypes.

The most likely candidate for successful RP with magnesium would be a process
developed for the US Army by Aeroquip, which is now being marketed by MTS
Systems Corp. I don't know about Mg, but right now they're doing Ti which
has a much higher melting point. This is a ballistic particle process that's
carried out within a vacuum chamber and should be applicable to most reactive
materials, I would think.
I don't have the web pages at hand for either company, but simply go to our
web site, click on "links" and you'll find listing's for both under
"Commercial Suppliers" (ballistic particle). You will have to hunt a bit on
the MTS site to find the process, but it's definitely there. There are also
bibliographic references that can be found from Aeroquip in the literature.
