i will try to improve the algorithm.....in this case if you are to look at
GeoMagic...although the software is trying to form surfaces through
triangulation.....the point data are still being ordered in order for the
surface patches to be formed.
hence, ordered point data is neccessary..."a World without Order will have
make Man = Animals"
same for points....points with no Order will make points still points.
hence, this is why i capitalise on Surfacer's unique abilities to
polygonise cross section point data to derive an ordered set of polygonised
point data for surface creation.
an improvement i can see for 1 STL -2- many Surfaces is the development of
an automatic stitching function....but in this case...Imageware has to be
the developer for this functionality. to stitch all surfaces into a
continuos single surface will need :-
1) search for two surfaces with at least one same edge....O(n^2)
2) simplify the stitch function...using too many variables inside the
3) memory allocation for the global stitched surface should be designed
but in all respects, i truly believe Surfacer can achieve all these within
the near future.

In my opinion, your idea is very good and in case of scattered data(chaotic
the trianglation method is best solution to reconstruct surface, But you
develop more robust algorithm. I mean that fast ,accurate, independant on
ordering...is need in your program... If you see GeoMagic which use
triaglation to recontruct surface , it will be help you..
