Lots of interesting and elaborate answers! I'm not sure any meets your low cost requirement though.

Z Corp (3DP) parts have 5-10x the stiffness of an FDM or Objet part. That may make them a poor choice for simulating very soft plastics like PE & PP but they're great for mockups and prototypes of stiffer plastics. It sounds like that's exactly what you're trying to do.
And of course, they also cost a lot less.

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to find a way to manufacture a part that is 1 inch by 2 inches and has minimal flexing of the material. Trying to keep material cost under $5 per part.

Looked at objet and dimension machines, but the part flexes too much.

Are there hardening techniques that can be used for some of the machines out there without losing accuracy?
