Hi there,
We've had Dimension SST for two years now and it's been a miracle
in reliability. In two years we've only had two jams in the
nozzles. The first one was a machine fault of somekind, the
second one was our own fault as a fuse blew from our office in
the middle of printing. Both times I've been able to fix the
machine myself by removing the nozzles and cleaning all the stuck
material from them. Only a 30min-1hour job.

Besides those two problems the only thing needed is vacuuming the
chamber every now and then and apllying some grease on the guide
rods. Material costs are reasonable. Of course, they could be
cheaper if you ask me (it's only ABS) but to my understanding the
costs are competitive. The point made by Adrian Bowyer is
important - you can reduce the costs a lot by considering the
design and the orientation of the print. As the support material
costs tha same as the building material, it really is worth to
position the model to the smallest support needed.

One tip - you can place smaller models inside the support
material... not in Dimensions software, but in CAD. I do this
simply by placing another model in assembly mode inside the
bigger part and creating a single STL from these. This reduces
support costs.
