My estimate of $1 Billion dollars per year is probabably low.

If $1 Billion dollars of systems(100,000) are sold annually, that would provide $120M (12 pounds per year per system times $100 per pound)in material sales and an estimate of $100 M per year in maintenance.

This begins to look more like $1.2B+ per year.

Looks pretty good when you are looking at a current sales volume of RP systems and materials that are about 25% of that number.

Subject: [rp-ml] 3D Systems New Flash System

About a year ago, I sent this list a chart showing 3D Systems view of the Global Competitive Landscape. In that chart, TDSC showed that the 3D printing competitors were 3D Systems,Stratasys, ZCorp, Solidscape, and Objet. In the remainder of the briefing, 3D extimated the market for 3D printers to approximate 100,000 per year within a very few years.Using the Flash System price of $10,000, one hundred thousand Flash Systems would correspond to $1 Billion annually. What do you think, is the Flash System the product that will finally make the RP Systems business a billion dollar annual business?Jack_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System. For more information please visit http://www.messagelabs.com/email ______________________________________________________________________
