EuroMold 2006 Conference to Highlight Future Applications of Additive Fabrication

FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, USA, September 21, 2006-DEMAT GmbH (Frankfurt, Germany) and Wohlers Associates, Inc. have announced their eighth annual international conference to coincide with the large EuroMold trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany. This year's conference, titled Future Industrial Applications of Additive Fabrication, will occur on Friday, December 1 at EuroMold 2006. The trade fair is November 29 - December 2 at the Exhibition Center Frankfurt.

Each year, this conference covers the latest trends and what the future holds in rapid product development and additive fabrication. This year's conference promises to cover some of the most interesting applications globally. Experts from several countries will share their knowledge and expertise to help attendees make important decisions related to new business, research, and investment opportunities and challenges. Those who attend will be among some of the most knowledgeable and well-connected individuals in the world.

Additive processes for applications, such as rapid prototyping, have become popular in a wide range of industries. The aerospace and automotive industries pioneered much of its use in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Other industries have since embraced the technology for products ranging from handheld electronics and business machines to footwear and sporting goods. More recently, other industries are using it for medical models, dental restorations, jewelry, architectural models, and even entertainment.

Planning of the conference has involved the careful selection of speakers, each with something very special to share. Individuals from companies such as GE Global Research and The Boeing Company will tackle difficult issues such as which methods and systems are providing the most benefits and what the future holds.

"This conference will explore exciting applications of rapid manufacturing, a subject of increasing importance at EuroMold," agreed Ms. Diana Schnabel and Dr. Eberhard Döring, chief executives at DEMAT, the organizers of EuroMold. "Last year, 1,620 exhibitors from 44 countries and nearly 60,000 engineers, toolmakers, managers, and executives from 69 countries used EuroMold as the meeting place of choice," Döring stated. The Global Alliance of Rapid Prototyping Associations (GARPA), a non-profit organization that Wohlers co-founded in 1998, has endorsed the conference and is participating in it, similar to past several years.

DEMAT organizes some of the most successful trade fairs in Europe. For more information on EuroMold and the December 1 conference, visit http://www.euromold.com/english/konferenz_wohlers.php4.
