If you add filer you will flexibility but you can control it within a 2% to 3% range when trying to put fillers in hot melt. However you can increase the strength greatly. This all depends in the basic chemical make of the hot melt. Micro size balloons, micro carbon fibers and multi-wall carbon nano tubes can be added to achieve this in hot melts.

We have a client who needs a filler to be added to a soft elastomeric polymer (hot melt) to increase the density from 0.95 grams per cc to approximately 1.05 grams per cc. The requirement is to add this filler without a major effect on the flexibility and strength of the final
