Dear All,

There seems to be a slightly different slant or emphasis on some of the
terms used to describe related activities...

Up at Loughborough the term 'Freeform Construction' (FC) has become quite
prevalent. It is usually applied to products produced through additive
means that are slightly larger in scale than the generic RP product. It
also applies to designs that are intrinsic reflections of their conception
methods, i.e. to designs in which the tools used (hardwares & softwares
particular to FC production) result in things that would be difficult, if
not impossible to make by any other means. Here FC is a founding catalyst
in the production of a design rather than a mere replacement technique or
technology.
