High Performance Bioactive Structures for Bone Replacement and Tissue
Growth
£18,893 - £21,852 per annum (under review)
The Rapid Manufacturing Research Group at Loughborough University is
seeking a Researcher to work on a project funded by a Department of
Health NEAT grant investigating High Performance Bioactive Structures
for Bone Replacement and Tissue Growth. NEAT (New & Emerging
Applications of Technology) is one of the three main national programmes
funded from the NHS R&D levy. This research project will be conducted in
collaboration with a UK University partner and a consumer advisory
group.
  
The successful candidate will join a team in the study of the Rapid
Manufacture of a polymer/hydroxyapatite blend for medical scaffolds/bone
implants by selective laser sintering.
  
Applicants must have the minimum of a good honours degree in an
Engineering related subject and have an interest in Rapid Manufacturing
and Healthcare Engineering. You will have experience with Rapid
Prototyping and associated software/equipment and a knowledge of
Selective Laser Sintering would also be desirable.
