[I recently got a used Sanders ModelMaker 6 "as is". Unfortunately, as it
is, it doesn't actually work. It's supposed to wake up and home the X and Y
axes, but this doesn't happen. Instead, the software gets as far as reading
the temperature inputs, then freezes- one can't enter any data and has to
quit with a "3-finger salute". I've tried reinstalling the software to no
avail. I'm not sure if it's a hardware or a software problem, or both. All
the drives are housed in this antique DOS tower that came with it, but I
don't have any way to figure out what's going on in there (or not). Does
anybody out there in RP-land have any idea how to troubleshoot these
machines? Does anybody actually fix them? Any words of wisdom would be
welcome (even if the sage advice is to give up and sell it for parts). I
tried Sanders/Solidscape, but they were less than helpful...]
