The battlefield or peacetime field deployment of an RP factory for military
temporary replacement parts was the focus of the SRI research, and it also
pertained to shipboard and spaceborne applications where space is a premium in
both instances and inventorying of spare parts is extremely costly in terms of
shipboard storage and or mission requirements to get them into orbit.
