downdraft

Hi, I am presently doing test sintering of Polycaprolactone (PCL) on SLS
Is it alright to enable the downdraft if i am not doing a full build on the SLS?
I noticed that there is some sound when i turn on the downdraft.
and also does it help to lower down the part bed temperature?
Or should i also turn on the blower?
Please advise.
