I would say that in case of low-melting-point coating (e.g. binary eutectics) the boundary effects between particle core and eutectics/intermetallides coatings could initiate crack propogation and reduce mechanical properties of the compound.

| specie. Analogously, one can sinter nickel powders at a low temperature by
| first coating them with phosphorous, which offers the further advantage of
