adidas-Salomon AG partners with Objet Geometries to
streamline digital data-sharing process
adidas-Salomon AG plans to use Objet Geometries Ltd.'s
Polyjet™-process rapid prototyping systems to create
and share three-dimensional data back and forth from
corporate headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany and
in Portland, Oregon, to all its corporate units and
contract factories in Asia.
adidas-Salomon AG has been using Objet's RP system
extensively in both its headquarters to create physical
models for nearly every adidas sole since the beginning
of 2002. "Installing a machine for both headquarters
has put us at a higher level. Objet’s helped change
the way we work," says adidas-Salomon's Vice
President - Product Creation Technologies Gary Pitman.
The company has reported significant reductions in the
company's product-development cycle using the Objet
process: from 90 days to only 30 days. Now,
adidas-Salomon's contract Asia factories in China,
Indonesia, Korea and Vietnam have ordered Objet
machines to further the company's goal of digital
data-sharing.
