Interested in being part of the next industrial revolution ?
Rapid manufacturing, based on a combination of high speed printing and rapid prototyping
technology, will revolutionise the way products are designed, manufactured and even supplied
to consumers. This research programme will enable this dream to be realised, resulting in the
development of a new process which will effective print 3D components of almost unlimited
complexity and material composition, straight from electronic design data. This major research
programme is being conducted with funding from the UK Government and support from
industrial organisations, including Ford Motor Company Limited. This is challenging research
requiring skills encompassing computing, automation and material testing. We are interested in
hearing from graduate engineers or scientists with a good grasp of material science, process
machinery, together with drive and imagination. For suitable candidates there will be the
opportunity to register for a higher degree.
