Dave,

I don't have a solution but maybe an approach.

Since .stl files are triangulated surfaces just like VRML files, would it be
possible to convert the file to a VRML format, put it in an HTML document
and have word read the HTML document? I've done a bit of checking in MS
office but can't figure out how to put this together. If someone else has
figured this out, please post a simple how to.

A tool like this would be really handy.

Subject: STL in a word document?

Does anyone know of a software that will compress and imbed a STL file into
a word or excel document, so that the STL can be viewed and rotated as a 3d
model within the document?

Thanks,
