Yes, Solidscape did this to me: word of mouth got back to me that a
demo part I'd sent them was being shown at a trade show, and they even
gave the file to at least one customer. Luckily I was able to nip
this in the bud, but it shows the importance of NDA'ing everybody who
handles a file.

The annoying part is that I've often licensed parts, for promotional
purposes or as a building challenge, asking nothing but a credit and
maybe a build for myself. Not just in the RP world: one of my pieces
is now appearing in a Japanese TV commercial. All anyone has to do is
ask.
