Any would-be custom running shoe designers out there interested in participating in a documentary film? If someone is using RP to design shoes for their friends, this might be a great piece to work on and a chance to work with some big names. See below, forwarded to me by another runner, who would like to see functional running shoes made for us instead of being made for the fashion industry.

Hi Kim,
here are the details about the documentary and the production company, you
asked for.

"Polyeides Medienkontor" is a group of free jounalists in Berlin, Germany,
who work for print media, television and radio. We specialize in cultural
and social issues. We work for: die Süddeutsche Zeitung; Frankfurter
Rundschau; Die Zeit; Stern; Stern; Arte; Sender Freies Berlin; Bayerischer
Rundfunk; ARD; ZDF; Deutsche Welle; Norddeutscher Rundfunk;
DeutschlandRadio. You will find examples of our work in the internet under:
www.polyeides.de(http://www.polyeides.de/)

About the project: the film - a documentary for cinema - is intended to tell
the history of the sneaker as a cultural phenomenon. As a lifestyle product,
a pop-art accessory or identification code for gangs. The idea is: to start
out by briefly addressing the history of the sneaker. Then we will focus on
the present: on the work of the top designers of Addidas, Nike and Puma.
Michael Michalsky (Addidas), Tinker Hatfield (Nike) and Satish Tailor
(Puma), they are our protagonists. They will visualize the story - of the
creative process and marketing strategies - behind the product. We are
already in touch with them.

What we are looking for now: is a fourth designer, an artist, who designs
shoes for himself and a few friends and customers. A collector, maybe, who
redesigns existing models. A man or a woman, whose ideas and products
circulate outside the global market, the big companies have split up between
themselves.

The project is still in the research phase. So, right now I am looking for
such an 'underground designer', or someone who has access to the world of
'underground design', to speak with him/her about the central idea of the
film. And, of course, win him/her to represent the fourth plot-line.

Thank you very much for passing my message on, Kim.
Please tell Inga I said hi.
Greetings
Detlef
