Our 3D-DOCTOR can actually read a SLC file and create
3D models for export to STL, DXF, IGES, 3DS, OBJ and other
formats, as well as raster image file, such as BMP, TIFF etc.
Since there are several flavors of SLC format, please feel free
to email me a sample file so we can take a look at it to make sure
it's compatible.
Dave, there will be new article on GeoWorld (June 2002) about R2V and
ZCorp's 3D Printer:
Learn How to Print in 3D, by Y. Ted Wu and Mark Kemper (they
combined my stuff with Mark's stuff into a single article).
