Energy Density Equation

Folks just a quick question I am confirming the Energy Density of a Laser in an SLS is it:

ED = Laser Power[Watts]/(Beam Speed[mm/sec]xScan Spacing[mm]) = J/mm2

Is this right? I have found papers and they have used conversion factors and such but I have no idea where they came from and I thought that the above equation was right.
