Dear Manak and list,
 
There are other software packages that will create STL files. Two that
spring to mind are Anatomics and Velocity 2. I'm sure their representatives
will respond to this email but if not let me know and I'll find their
contact details for you.
 
However, using Mimics means that you can proceed directly to the slice file
format of the FDM machine which is more efficient than creating potentially
very large STL files.
