APMM Announces Record-Breaking Registration for Upcoming Conference

July 17, 2001 – There are only two weeks remaining to register early for
“Model Making Essentials for 2001 & Beyond”, the annual Conference of the
Association of Professional Model Makers. This year’s Conference will take
place September 14-17 in Pasadena, California. According to current
registration numbers, a record attendance of Model Making professionals is
expected. By taking advantage of early registration rates before August 1st,
a $50 discount can be applied to Conference fees, in addition to discounted
DoubleTree hotel room rates.

Vendor Tabletops will be featured during the Sunday Evening Expo. Saturday
and Sunday Product Showcase Workshops along with Essential Skills Workshops
will be presented at the Art Center College of Design and the DoubleTree
hotel. On Friday and Monday, technical tours will give privileged insights
to the model shops of Mattel, TRW Space and Electronics, Gentle Giant
Studios, Pacific Miniatures, Art Center, Jet Propulsion Lab, Walt Disney
Imagineering, CTEK, and BJB Enterprises.

On Friday evening, the APMM welcomes two honored Keynote Speakers. Inventor
and Scientist Douglas J. Malewicki, President, Aero Visions, Inc. and Len
Stobar, Product and Transportation Designer and Model Making Instructor at
Art Center College of Design will discuss the Project C2C™, a small,
two-seat tandem, fully enclosed, three wheeled motorcycle with a striking,
futuristic, super-streamlined body.

Conference activities begin on Thursday evening, September 13th, with an
Attendee Reception from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Other dining events will include the
Friday Evening Keynote Dinner and the Sunday Evening Buffet Dinner. The
Sunday buffet dinner is included with Attendee registration.

On-site Conference registration begins Thursday, September 13th, at noon in
the DoubleTree Santa Rosa foyer.
