It seems to me that notification of copyright by using the symbol in text or
as part of a hallmark on the product should be enough to protect the artist.
The problem is that when most software programs open a CAD file , the user
has no idea as to the origin or if it is protected under any particular
jurisdiction.....

You will never be able to keep people from making copies of a design, it is
in the nature of man. What I would like to see is something on the order of
a warning on opening the file..... like on cigarettes......WARNING THIS
DESIGN IS PROTECTED UNDER US COPYRIGHT LAW, ARTIST NAME 2001......
