RE: VRML or OBJ to STL

Tom and All,

I am the customer and the software that I am using only puts out (that I can
use) VRML and OBJ formats. So I need to understand how to increase the
resolution of these files.

Karl, Our approach has always been to ask our customer to go back
into his original 3D CAD file and change his settings, so to export a larger
stl file. If the stl file is large enough, the faceted surfaces, as viewed
in Solid View (excellent program), go away and good non-faceted RP models
always result. If there's another way, I would like to hear about it. Best

                Hello all,

I was wondering if any of you knew of a way to increase the
triangle count
when writing out a VRML or OBJ file. I had been using Solid
View (free down
load-able version) to import the above mentioned formats but
the resultant
STL file(s) seems a bit rough. Would the full version
treat them any
different? Is there any other form of converting these
files?
