I´m studying mechanical engineering at a university in germany. I have
to do a practice work with an 3D-Laser Scanner ( VIVID 700 from Minolta
), we try to adapt the scan data to our rapid prototyping system
(SinterStation 2000 from DTM ). need information about the perfect
surface, colour, etc. of the objects to be scanned and wich is the best
data format to be exported and even to be converted into a *.stl file.
perhaps there are some experiences with this. even it would be helpfull
if you have some information about the history of 3D-Laser Scanners e.g.
using the scanners for rp-systems.
