THIRD INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
                                on
TOOLS AND METHODS OF COMPETITIVE ENGINEERING

Delft, April 18 - 21, 2000

INTRODUCING TMCE 2000:

It is our pleasure to invite you to the Third International
Symposium on Tools and Methods of Competitive Engineering - TMCE
2000.
This event will present a conscious survey on the
state-of-the-art of the
methodologies and technologies of product design and engineering,

and will provide an outstanding contribution to the development
of the related disciplines.

The main focus of the TMCE 2000 Symposium and the accompanying
workshop will be on competitive product conceptualization, detail
design,
engineering and production. The trends in all kinds of product
related activities, such as global marketing, product
conceptualization,
concurrent and collaborative engineering, virtual and physical
product modeling, product aesthetics and ergonomics, and
development of
design support systems based on new paradigms will be presented.
It will
also cover the development of enabling tools, such as VR, GM,
FEM, RP,
QFD, FMEA, LCA, AID, ISA, and PDM.

The TMCE 2000 Organizing Committee expects more than two hundred
participants from Europe, America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
The Symposium Proceedings includes several invited papers and 66
high quality refereed papers. The TMCE workshop intends to give a

focus to the research issues related to the emerging tools and
methods
of product, process and knowledge conceptualization, design and
engineering.
