Terry,

We use Magics 5.0 here at De Montfort University and generally find that the
automatic repair features do the trick well and most files don't need too
much interactive work.
One exception was a particularly large part (car bumper) with small features
(bosses etc.) where the limit on overall file size lead to some loss of very
small features as the .stl file was too coarse and lost detail when
converted from an IGES format. I'm sure this part would have been difficult
to process on most systems.
