Sounds like this is 3D analog imaging versus 3D digital imaging. Digital
imaging would have interesting applications for new product design, but I'm
not sure of what value the analog version would offer. If you have a
physical object, you might as well use it for the design review. If the
source of the model was digital, and if the quality was close to what I've
seen with analog imaging, we'd have a very useful tool for new product
development.
