Hey Mike!
I, for one, believe this is a perfect forum for the announcement of a new
service. I see much more commercial announcements than this and no one
seems to mind. As an end user I may have use for this service and knowing
who the competitors are IS educational. I even recall a note from Elaine
Hunt some time ago where she reminded all that initial startups (services,
software releases, etc.) are very appropriate for this forum and I agree.
If this went on weekly for established firms it would indeed diminish the
effectiveness of this mailing list but startups are welcome at my terminal.
