You are correct. Richard Seal, Neal Enke and J. Gagern of the Advanced Vehicle Technology - Global Test Operations of Ford Motor Company submitted for and won the 1996 3DNASUG Stereolithography Excellence Award. Maybe Doug Mitchelle can alert Richard and he can provide a copy of his paper, or 3D may have a write up. There may be a copy of his paper in the 1997 European Conference proceedings, since traditionally the winner of the NA award presents the following year at the European 3D SLA User meeting. They also had a paper in IBEC '95 - Materials & Body Testing pgs. 151-157.

I might be able to provide a lead here. ..
For the 3DNASUG meeting attendees: Wasn't there a submission two or three
years ago for the annual award that featured using SLA parts to display and
evaluate photoelastic stresses in different parts?
