Artur,
CBCs were a really hot topic about ten or twelve years ago. At least two
major companies were working in that area, including Oxidental Chemical
and Imperial Chemical Industries. ICI and Oxy were both working on CBCs
called macrodefect-free cements. What you are probably most interested in was
called a castable CBC, which can be used in making tooling molds.
Oxy evidently spun off its CBC business, but that company, Cemcom,
Baltimore, Maryland, still uses CBCs in some of its products, although the
material is not mentioned on Cemcom's Web site and the company is currently
being acquired by yet another company.
I believe Cemcom has been mentioned at various RP conferences and I think
several groups may still be using the material in RP tooling. In a quick
search, I found Helsinki University of Technology (surprise, surprise,
surprise) is one of those, for instance.
I can find no mention of CBCs or MDF cements on ICI's Web site.
