We have vacuum metallized numerous PUR parts with many different metals. Thickness can be varied. You can't use a urethane with a low heat deflection temperature or it may warp during the metallizing
process. Additionally, for preventing oxidation of some metals they may want to clearcoat parts and that usually involves a heat cure process for the paint.
