RE: light year work around

Does this mean that any slight change in machine parameters needs the
blessing from 3D Systems or are some of the parameters still editable?

And just how quickly would they be able to respond?

I have now received my copy of Lightyear and seen the demo I was pleased
with its performance but I am now concerned to learn that it has a degree of
restrictive practice embedded into its operations.

How many others have noticed good features lost over the version upgrades.
(remember in 3dview you had the ability to switch on double buffer and
initiate an automatic spin on the model very good for impressing clients
this was lost with the move to View. Now with a move from Maestro to
Lightyear a feature called 'sliconv' will no longer be available which I
have used three times over the last year and was very important to those
projects.) no doubt others may add to the list of missing features.

We are Beta testing RPC300ND resin at the moment and have 3D Systems consent
that its use does not invalidate the machines maintenance warranty.

But as RPC only gave the parameters to build at 0.15 mm layers I have had to
do very many changes to the parameters of build styles for 0.1mm, 0.05mm and
0.025mm layer thickness.

This was done very quickly and sometimes changes were made midway through
the build. It would have been an administrative nightmare if this was done
on Lightyear.

Looks like users shall have to raise Confidential Agreements with 3D Systems
to ensure that any special build styles that they consider to be a special
feature of their service to customers is maintained as their IPR
(intellectual property right) and keep 3D Systems from divulging that
information to other parties. But then again they would not want to do that
anyway?

What will the topic of conversation at the next SLA user group meeting be?
