Dear Terry,
thanks for your explanation - we couldn't have done it better ;-)
CMB (as mentioned: Control Metal Buildup) combines laser build-up
welding by powder or wire with high speed cutting to ensure the best
possible surface quality and dimensional accuracy. Each layer is
machined after generating, leading to 100-percent dense steel parts. The
technique is still in development, the commercialization for part
building, tooling and tool repairing is expected soon.
