STL and IGES problems

Valter E. Beal [beal@cimject.ufsc.br] has problems with STL from Ideas and
some IGES problems

I have found that some SDRC STL files are in Inch units when the user thinks
that they are sending data in metric format. It is a setting that needs to
be changed in their preferences files.

If the STL file looks ridiculously small I would scale the model up by 25.4
and check with the sender the new overall extents dimensions to confirm what
the size should be.

As for the IGES problem from SDRC, use the flavour option setting in the
directory.
It gives several other CAD packages that it will tweak the IGES output so
that a better translation will take place.

The one that I find gives a better transfer to other systems is 'option 9'
(GM CGS).

I am using an old version of SDRC Ideas (2.1) though as we do not use it
each and every day as a production tool.

Hope this helps Valter
