There are at least two firms in the Texas area that have used RP to make
architecture models. One firm has done urethane castings of a topigraphical
maps of a city or subdivision done from a RP pattern of the skyline, and
another firm has used a concept modeler (Actua) to create patterns of the
buildings that were fairly quick and easy to deal with. Once these concepts
were done, the models were used either as stand alone models, or used as a
casting pattern for either urethane or metal. I heard some pretty novel
ways of shipping the Actua models to remote locations, and these models did
include very fine facades such as the angels on the front of the symphony
hall in Fort Worth Texas.
If there is interest in the use of a concept modeler to give an
architectural 3D rendering, the ThermoJet might be a good solution.
