Marshall,

I have not seen any sign that Sony will withdraw from Stereolithography
business until now. D-MEC , the sales company of SONY, is third one which
started this business in Japanese market. From my personal view, D-MEC have
done very well last year. You know, there are about 6 Stereolithography
system manufacturers in Japanese market. PLUS. Many other RP systems and
excellent traditional model makers. Japanese market may be the most
competitive one. But, it is good thing for us to have so many competitors
because it makes the technology improved. In other words, the Japanese users
may be the happiest one.

Subject: Sony reorganization

Good morning,

Can any of our Japanese friends on the RP-ML tell us what will happen
to
the Sony fabricator business, which markets its machines through DMEC and
has a cross license with 3D Systems, under the recently announced
reorganization of Sony?

>From Headline News at CNN.com today: "Sony Corp. said it plans to cut
17,000
jobs and convert three subsidiaries into wholly-owned companies in a broad
restructuring. The company said it will turn Sony Music Entertainment
(Japan) Inc. and two other units into wholly owned subsidiaries. It will
position three in-house electronics companies as well as Sony Computer as
the core units of its electronics business. Sony said it will reduce its
work force by about 10 percent."
