FDM : ABS Head & tips thread

Dear FDM Users
We have acces to an FDM 2000

We are facing a problem with the FDM ABS Head. When we changed tips, {we do
it once a month and using the specified lubricant}, the last time the
thread for the Tip, in the head wore away, almost vanished.

It seems that being the tip made of steel and the head thread in aluminum
{a softer material} the wear is an issue in the aluminum side.
{This was confirmed by Stratasys technical support that the issue is
common. }

A few months ago we had the same problem and the solution was to replace
the head.

I would like to check with other FDM users, if they have faced this same problem and if some one has found an alternative solution to this problem different from changing the complete head.
May be someone found a repair technique.

I will appreciate your comments.

Thanks in advance
Ariel Lijtenstein
