This is a great question Elaine. I give probably 6 - 8 tours a month for
school kids from elementary to college. Boeing/Rocketdyne has been very
generous to open it's doors to schools in general. The response we get from
the kids is fantastic. They see real parts coming out of these machines and
realize that their favorite toy (the computer) is capable of things other
than video games and word processing.

I tell them that we are doing the "footwork", but they (the kids) will be
responsible for putting this technology into action for fabricating hardware
as required (long term space missions, etc). You should see their eyes
light up. I usually end the tour by telling them to come back when they
graduate and give me a hand.
