Jim,

Not in our part of the world... We have never pushed our laser to gain
speed and have always kept it clean and well maintained and yet the
average life for us has been around 3500 hours. I think in reality it's
a matter of luck, that is weather or not you get a good one!

Thanks for all of your replys. Apparently laser life is tied to
maintence of
the laser. If the laser is well maintained you can expect between 6000
to
8000 hours. This includes tuning, cleaning the brewster window and
optics.

 At last years 3DSNASUG a break out session covered equipment maintenance
issue's.
I wonder if that session will be on the agenda for 1999?
