Software tool? Scan photo --> 3D Model

I believe I've seen discussion on this subject
before, but now I have a need for the info...

I'm looking for a way to convert the content of
a 2D photograph into a 3D model, which of course
can then be grown in SLA or ACTUA.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
