Paul,

We have produced and successfully cast QuickCast parts where sections of
the same part ranged from 0.9 to 13 mm. The thin section was at the end
of a thin, wing shaped fin where the edge was a radius of 0.45mm. Two mm
from the fin the thickness was about 1.2 mm. Just make absolutely sure
the epoxy doesnt build solid, or there will be problems ahead.

However, the casting people may have another opinion. They normally say
No thinner than 1 mm! or the shell might crack. At least to my
knowledge.

A centrifuge should definitely be used, if possible for a couple of days
or so, changing the position of the part every now and then to make sure
its completely empty. You will have to make drain holes at suitable
places. Holes can be repaired afterwards using epoxy resin or wax, but
safest way is to consult the foundry first.
