InPart Launches Innovative FlashModeler at IMTS Show; Key Manufacturing
Customers Can Instantly Access 3D Solid Models at No Cost
                     (Business Wire; 09/16/98)

SARATOGA, CALIF. (Sept. 16) BUSINESS WIRE -Sept. 16, 1998--InPart, the
leading provider of 3D content and tools for the mechanical engineering
market, announces its FlashModeler service to the mechanical manufacturing
marketplace. FlashModeler allows suppliers and their customers and
distributors to access the most current 3D solid models from InPart's model
server at no cost simply by logging onto the Internet. FlashModeler allows
customers or distributors to access the supplier's web site, enter a part
number, specify a file format, and receive a 2D or 3D model of the part.

For many suppliers that are committed to customer satisfaction and quality
service and support, FlashModeler addresses their customers' basic yet
urgent needs for the most current 2D and 3D CAD models. The technology
enables suppliers to offer a new service to their customers without
incurring costs or adding labor that are typically required for making and
servicing models. In addition, FlashModeler provides more visibility of the
suppliers' products to a wider audience. Suppliers can offer models 24
hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year to worldwide
customers. FlashModeler's reporting system allows companies to become
proactive in meeting customer requirements.

Randy Ochs, InPart vice-president of content publishing, adds,
"FlashModeler addresses a major trend in the market today, including the
march towards 3D design in the product development environment. Today there
are 800,000 3D CAD seats in the world and those numbers are expected to
reach 1,500,000 seats after Y2K. To remain globally competitive, suppliers
need to offer ready-to-use 3D CAD models of their designs to customers.
With FlashModeler, InPart is uniquely positioned to provide this capability
directly from the suppliers' websites.

"As suppliers build stronger partnerships with their customers, they need
detailed information regarding customer project requirements. FlashModeler
provides the information to enable suppliers to better understand which
parts their customers are using and when they are using them in their
design and tooling cycles."

InPart's FlashModeler provides users with the following: a powerful search
engine for accessing models, 2D and 3D models on the fly in the file format
they need, and detailed model usage reporting for the suppliers. The
suppliers will cover the cost of the service thus enabling users to obtain
the models at no cost. Detailed pricing is available from InPart. About
